Free college is now a reality in nearly 20 states

With the cost of a secondary education rising sharply, many are finding it difficult to attend a college or university to further their aspirations. Those who do manage to obtain a degree find themselves increasingly in student loan debt that is hard to climb out of. This is having a negative impact on poor communities, particularly communities of color, as many seek ways to stop the vicious cycle of poverty dead in its tracks.
