Position Announcement: Business Development Manager

Location : Wellesley, MA

Business Development at Insource is not sales. Most of our clients are referred, and our goal is to help them clarify their challenges and determine if our services are a good option for their business needs. The newly-created Business Development Manager position would help build relationships and scope opportunities to expand Insource’s client base. Working with consulting team leads and Insource’s Vice President, the Business Development Manager will respond to initial service requests, schedule and facilitate new prospect meetings, draft proposals, and coordinate price projections. The Business Development Manager would be responsible for tracking and following up on related questions and pending work status related to new business. In this role, the Manager would work with the Vice President to prioritize and execute opportunities to increase Insource’s visibility with prospective clients, including identifying presentation and conference opportunities and drafting content that features and showcases Insource’s ethos and consulting services.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Insource at networking events and presentations
  • Develop potential business opportunities by cultivating partnerships
  • Track business development leads and pending opportunities; schedule introductory meetings
  • Assist in launching communication with new clients – bridging the sales and the consulting phase
  • Participate in the identification, qualification, and pursuit of strategic business opportunities
  • Obtain market intelligence and competitive data to monitor the competitive landscape
  • Assist in setting contract pricing levels and updating current clients’ rates.
  • Maintain and monitor client relationships from a corporate level to assure client satisfaction and that client needs are being met
  • Follow-up on referrals and self-generated leads
  • Prepare reports on status of leads and other reports as required
  • Contact potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings
  • Estimate and anticipate partners’ needs and goals.
  • Facilitates kick-off meetings and all other preparatory meetings
  • Assure that agreements are finalized before work begins. Set up new clients internally.
  • Drafts communication pieces to showcase Insource’s work and organizational tone – blogs, client communications, RFP’s, etc.
  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing, and drafting contracts and integrating contract requirements with business operations in coordination with Vice President.
  • Identify and prospect new business opportunities to increase client base
  • Working as a liaison between businesses and internal teams to onboard new business, providing an excellent experience
  • Facilitate executive-level client-facing meetings and presentations with gravitas and engendering immediate credibility for the organization
  • Maintaining current awareness of relevant technologies and services to successfully meet and address client requirements at an introductory level.
  • Actively manage opportunities within Salesforce
  • Coordinate updates to proposal templates and design changes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or English preferred.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources
  • Prior consulting experience strongly preferred – the ability to meet clients where they are and structure solutions to address their needs. Distill needs, frame issues and solutions.
  • Demonstrate time management and planning skills – ability to manage complex projects and multi-task often in an environment with short timelines.
  • Ability to think quickly and be decisive

  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with CRM software, ideally Salesforce
  • Have a proven track-record of building strong relationships

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines
